Attention Student MTs: Tennis Balls for Sore Arches!

6 Aug

I learned this little trick when I started running long distance in high school, but it’s helping me now as I’m learning massage therapy: if you have sore arches or feel like you have some knots in the bottom of your foot, put a tennis ball under there and get rolling!

You can try out this self-massage technique with both feet when you’re sitting down or one foot at a time when you’re standing up (for more pressure).

Obviously, if you have persistent arch soreness, you’ll want to figure out the source of the pain and maybe meet with an appropriate medical authority. However, if you’re just at the end of a long on-your-feet day, tennis balls for sore feet might not be a bad idea!
